Wild Pigs, Deer & Mouse Deer
in
Tabin Wildlife Reserve

Wild pigs (illustrated right) are common in Tabin and they range into the surrounding oil palm plantations. Both the lesser (below, right) and greater species of mouse deer are found in Tabin.

Sambar deer (below, left) are also fairly common throughout the reserve and they are commonly seen along the Raleigh Trail. These animals can be fairly tolerant of human presence if people do not move abruptly or make noise. The yellow barking deer was known in Tabin for a long time but the red species also been seen in Tabin during recent years.
