Tonga has become a significant producer of Cladosiphon sp. (limu tanga’u; mozuku) Most exports go to Japan. and total exports amount to over 400 tons per annum. Farm trials have been conducted with technical and financial support from the FAO-SPADP using methods similar to those employed in Okinawa.
